What we keep

The catches you record: species, measurements, whether the fish was released or kept, tackle, your notes, your spoken words as recorded, your photograph, and the conditions of that day — tide, wind, pressure, moon and water temperature.

Your email address, so the journal can be opened again on any device. That's all.

Your exact position. A coordinate is used once, at the moment of capture, to read the conditions around you — it is not published, sold or shown to anyone.

Your water notes, your notes to yourself and your spoken words. A shared Trace print carries the fish, the date and the water type only — never a location, never your notes.

Your record, your locations and your email are not sold, rented, traded or handed to a data broker. They are not used to build an advertising profile of you.

There is no advertising in Catchline, no sponsored tackle and no brand paying for a place in your journal. No angler will be solicited through this app.

The app is funded by anglers, for anglers — the only money it takes comes from the people who use it.

Catchline does not predict fishing, rate a day or tell you where to go. Any pattern you see is drawn from your own record and belongs to you alone.

You can archive or delete any catch at any time, and take a copy of the whole journal from Settings. Deleting a catch removes it and its photograph.

When there is no coverage, a catch is saved on your device and sends itself when you are back in range. Until then it never leaves your phone.
